Replacing a Leaky Heating System in Sea Isle City

Sea Isle Case Study Home.pngHave you taken a look at your heating and cooling system recently? Your HVAC units may still be working, but problems could be lurking! For this Sea Isle City Homeowner, they knew something was off when they saw a leak in their system. They decided to call us up and have someone come out and take a look.

When our Comfort Specialist took a look at their system, they saw that it was a non repairable refrigerant leak. They had a 12 year old Payne Heat Pump system that still used old R-22, or Freon, coolant to keep it working. Freon is currently being phased out of production, and eventually use in the US.

Due to the short lifespan left on this system, and the costly repair it would have been, we decided to recommend that they replace both the indoor and outdoor unit and switch over the newer Puron refrigerant. Puron is a cleaner, more efficient way to keep your home cool.

When it came down to what would replace the old system, they decided to go with Carrier. We installed a new Carrier Coastal outdoor 15 SEER Puron Heat Pump unit with a Carrier Performance variable speed air handler with aux strip heat. Also installed a Honeywell Lyric Pro Wi-Fi thermostat. This kind of thermostat lets the homeowner have the ability to control their system remotely from any smart device. This could even mean checking on their home while they aren't there, and adjusting the temperature for when they arrive! This also came with a 10 years parts & compressor warranty with 3 year labor warranty and the 1st year maintenance.

Lyric Thermostat.pngNot only does the new system heat AND cool their home, but it also does it more efficiently than the previous one. This means lower energy bills in the winter and the summer. They can also relax knowing their system won't break down anytime soon. With regular service, this entire system should last them at least 10 years, and should require minimal repairs.

Between the new system, and the new thermostat, this Sea Isle City Duplex should feel more comfortable, while using less energy. Now they don't even have to get off the couch to turn up the heat. They can just do it on their phones!
