Adding Ductless Cooling To A Horse Farm In Woodbine

Problem: Old house with oil heat, but wants to add a cooling system. Also no room for ducts.

Solution: Install a 3 zoned Mitsubishi Ductless system, with cooling and heating ability.

Horse Farm Comfort Now.jpgOlder homes have a certain charm to them that you struggle to get in newly built homes. Unfortunately that charm doesn't come with all the comforts and amenities that new homes are built with. That was the case with a Horse Farm we came across in Woodbine, New Jersey.

This is a single family home, that was built in 1918. They have an oil fired hot water boiler to distribute heat throughout the house, but no way of cooling the entire home. The homeowner was sick of having to use fans and window units, but knew there was no room in the old house for duct work. Luckily this is something we see a lot of with older construction, and have a perfect solution...

Problem: Old house with oil heat, but wants to add a cooling system. Also no room for ducts.

Solution: Install a 3 zoned Mitsubishi Ductless system, with cooling and heating ability.

Ductless Horse Farm.jpgAt the recommendation of Comfort Now, the homeowner decided to install a 3 zoned Mitsubishi Ductless System. This means throughout the house there will be 3 different ductless units, which all can be controlled separately and customized to the temperature needed in that zone. This is incredible for families who can't agree on a temperature, and for people who don't need to cool or heat the parts of the house they aren't using.

$200 Off a Ductless Unit

The way these ductless units are designed, they can also be used to heat the house in the winter. That means the homeowner doesn't need to waste money heating the whole house, especially in the fall and spring when it isn't necessary to have your heat on at all times, but certainly have some chilly spots to warm up.

Ductless in hallway.jpgThe homeowner also took advantage of an $800 rebate for purchasing energy efficient equipment. With everyone going green, there are certain state programs that reward homeowners for installing environmentally friendly equipment in their homes. That is the case here with Ductless units. They use far less energy that older traditional units, and therefore are eligible for a rebate. So not only did this customer receive money back on their purchase, they can also expect lower energy bills going forward!

How Ductless Works

If you have an older home, no room for duct work, or maybe just a problem room that never stays comfortable, ductless is a fantastic solution.

We know the homeowners are very pleased with their new cooling and heating system. Maybe next the horses will need one installed!
