Adding Ductless Heating & Cooling to This Sea Isle City Duplex
This Sea Isle City Duplex was recently purchased, but the new homeowner knew the heating and air conditioning systems had to be taken care of. They wanted to use the place to rent out, and no one is going to rent somewhere in the summer that has no sort of air conditioning!
When anyone is purchasing a new home, one of the most important things to take care of is the heating and cooling equipment. It's something that will be in the home for 10+ years, will keep you and your family comfortable, and will also determine how high or low your energy bills will be. It's something that has a very large impact on your home, but with the right equipment, it will be a comfort of home instead of a headache.
This homeowner decided to go with a ductless system for the duplex. Ductless was a great option for this project for a few reasons. Because this was going to be used for renting, it makes sense to have a system with several different zones. This will allow the renters to only cool the rooms they are using. If it was a traditional central air system, the whole home would have to be cooled, costing more money cooling rooms that aren't being used.
Another great reason that they decided on ductless was because the house didn't have to have any serious ventilation installed. We installed 2 Mitsubishi outdoor units with 5 indoor zones. We used stainless steel wall mount brackets on the exterior to prevent rusting and staining on the outside of the home. All of the exterior lines where covered in white plastic line covering to help conceal and protect the refrigerant lines.
These units also work independently of each other when they are on. For instance, one bedroom can be kept at 65 degrees, while the other at 70 if the renters prefer that. Not having to agree on a temperature will make everyone happy, and keep the bills down.
For all of these reasons the ductless system was perfect for this Sea Isle City Duplex!
